National News: The incident of cruelty and murder with a five -year -old innocent girl in Hubli city of Karnataka has shocked the entire state. The accused of this gruesome incident was arrested by the police on Sunday night, but he was killed in an encounter while trying to escape during police custody. Questions have been raised on the functioning of the police regarding this incident, after which the State Home Minister Ji Parmeshwar has ordered an inquiry into the matter.
This horrific incident occurred on Sunday when a five -year -old innocent girl was abducted from her house in a locality in Hubli. The accused took the girl to a deserted place where she tried to rape her. The girl was scared to hear the cry of crying, the accused strangled her to death and escaped from the spot.
Local people reported the incident to the police. In a few hours, the police arrested the accused. He has been identified as Ritesh Kumar (35 years), who is said to be a native of Patna, Bihar.
According to the police, when the accused was brought to the police station after the arrest, he suddenly tried to attack the policemen and also damaged the police vehicle. He started fleeing from the spot after throwing stones at the policemen. Meanwhile, Hubli Police Commissioner N Sasikumar said that a police sub-inspector first fired in the air to stop the accused, but when he did not stop, he was shot at two rounds. The bullet hit the leg and chest of the accused.
The seriously injured accused were brought to Karnataka Medical College (KMC) for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. A sub-inspector and three other policemen were also injured in this encounter, who are being treated in the hospital.
Local people, hurt by the ruthless murder of the innocent girl, came out on the streets and started protesting. People say that strict action should be taken against the criminals and the whole truth of the police encounter should be revealed.

Regarding the questions arising on this encounter, Karnataka Home Minister Ji Parmeshwar said, "We have ordered an inquiry into the whole matter. The truth will soon be revealed. The police claims and the apprehension of the public - both will be investigated keeping in mind both."
He also said that, "The identity and activities of people coming from other states will be strictly monitored, but there will be no discrimination against any class or state."
